My own comfort zone

Do you adept quickly? Are you used to change? I found it hard nothing is comfortable anymore. Just like your old pair of comfie slippers, you need to get used to those hard uncomfortable shoes which you want to take off any minute you can. Change can be scary fearful and unfriendly. All the little familar things are replaced by new foreign things.
This poem has kept me going. I feel I can relate to lots of it and like to share it with you. Enjoy it as I have done.

My Very Own Comfort Zone

Once I had a comfort zone where I thought I couldn't fall.
But, like a jail, I had to stay there- and stare at the same old wall.

I always wished I could do the stuff I had never done before.
But my comfort zone kept holding me back so I couldn't see the door.

I justified the way I lived,that I wasn't doing well.
"I didn't care for nicer things," is the lie I used to tell.

I claimed to be too busy with the things inside my zone,
I didn't have the time to chase something special of my own.

I couldn't let my life go by just watching others win.
I held my breath; I stepped outside, and let the change begin.

I took a step and with new strength I'd never felt before,
I kissed my comfort zone goodbye and closed and locked that door.

If you too are in a comfort zone, afraid to venture out,
At one time every winner was also filled with doubt.

One step, then two, some words of praise,
and expect dreams to come true.

Reach up for your future with amile; success is there for you!
Once I had a comfort zone where I thought I couldn't fail.

The same four walls and busy work were actually, just a jail.

  2. Yeah I can relate to that poem, but it is truly liberating to step outside your comfort zone, and conquer your fears. Great post Ida.

  3. Ida,
This is a good blog you have started here and I really love the poem, So many people in life need to step out of their very own comfort and accept what the world has to offer. Yet sadly only 5% of the population ever will and that saddens me, so every person you can help to achieve their true potential is a step in the wright direction. Well done IDA...
